A key driver of the project was the separation of spaces for everyday family living and more formal social gatherings
This project involved a comprehensive extension and reconfiguration of a family home for a growing family of four, with a focus on enhancing both day-to-day functionality and the ability to host and entertain.
The design introduces a substantial new footprint, including a covered outdoor living area, an expanded formal lounge, and a generous kitchen supported by a fully integrated scullery. A carefully considered linkway connects these primary living spaces to a large laundry, mudroom, and double garage, creating a highly practical and efficient flow throughout the home.
Upstairs, the layout was reimagined to better serve the needs of the children, with redesigned bedrooms and a reworked roof structure that increases vertical space, transforming previously constrained, sloped areas into comfortable, usable rooms filled with light and volume.
A key driver of the project was the separation of spaces for everyday family living and more formal social gatherings. This allows the home to function seamlessly across different modes of use, offering both intimate, relaxed zones and refined entertaining areas without compromise.
The interior design delivers a cohesive, modern aesthetic, featuring a refined palette of light-toned veneers, travertine, and microcement, complemented by aged brass detailing. These softer, natural textures are contrasted with crisp, contemporary elements such as steel-framed doors and windows, adding depth and definition throughout the spaces.
